Kerala Kiss of Love Organiser, Wife Arrested in Sex Racket Case

The  Police on 18 November arrested eight people, including Rahul Pashupalan of Kiss of Love’ online campaign and his wife,  Rashmi R Nair, according to Zee News. Seven others were also arrested along with Pashupalan.
The Cyber Cell of Police made the arrests after it allegedly discovered an online paedophila racket, while investigating a Facebook paedophilia page called ‘Kochu Sundarikal’.
Police also found pictures of girls were also pasted on the page by the seven persons, who were arrested along with Pashupalan. The police said Pashupalan and Rashmi, who is a model,  were allegedly helping a gang that supplied children to paedophiles, said Zee News.
Among those arrested was also a gangster named Akbar, a native of Kasaragod. It may be noted he ‘Kiss of Love’ campaign had raised a strong voice against moral policing.
The movement had started gaining attention after a mob of attackers demolished a coffee shop in North ’s  city on the grounds of criticising alleged ‘immoral activity’ of public display of affection by some couples.
It then spread to several metropolitan cities and other cities ad towns across the country.


The controversial Kiss of Love campaign took place earlier this year to protest against alleged incidents of moral policing in the state.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  The organiser of Kerala's Kiss of Love protest, Rahul Pashupalan, his wife and seven others have been arrested in a case involving sex racket. Six others have been arrested for operating a website on child pornography, said police sources.

The controversial "Kiss of Love" campaign took place earlier this year to protest against alleged incidents of moral policing in the state.

A group of Facebook users had come up with the idea after Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha volunteers allegedly vandalized a hotel in Kozhikode, alleging that immoral activities were going on there.

Couples were asked to gather on Valentine's Day to give public displays of affection.

But the police cracked down on the campaign, taking protesters into preventive custody to maintain law and order.
