Sania Mirza gushes about her amazing career
Tennis star Sania Mirza, who is currently women's doubles champion, has made world proud by winning numerous titles at various international tournaments.
According to Indian media reports, Sania said, 2015 during which she bagged two Grand Slams, and eight other titles with Martina Hingis in a dream run, is particularly special because of the number of wins.
"It's not just about the year. My whole career has been amazing. Last few years have been really good. It so happened that in one year, we have been able to dominate the court. Too many things have happened. That's very good. It's the contribution of many years. The hard work, the sacrifice that has gone in from the family, the people and the media, everyone who has been with me,” Sania added.
She also became world number one in individual doubles rankings. It has been an extraordinary year for Sania as she won 10 titles, including two Grand Slams with partner Martina Hingis. She also won the Charleston title and consolidated her position with continued success in company of Martina Hingis.
Recently, Sania Mirza has featured in BBC’s 100 women of 2015, a list compiled by the media conglomerate of the ‘most inspirational women’ across the world.
