India have been bowled out for 215 in in their first innings of the third Test at Nagpur. Murali Vijay top-scored for India with 40 to his name and he put on 50 for the opening wicket along with Shikhar Dhawan, who managed just 12. Jadeja and Saha and put on 48 for the seventh wicket, which helped India go past the 200-run mark. Simon Harmer and Morne Morkel were the pick of the bowlers for the Proteas, picking up seven wicket between them. South Africa will now come out to bat and they will look to survive whatever is left of the day.
Barring the opening partnership, India kept losing wickets at regular intervals. South Africa would have been very happy with the fact that they were not letting the Indian batsmen settle. After the openers were dismissed in the first session, Cheteshwar Pujara was dismissed immediately after the lunch break. Ajinkya Rahane was looking to play some counter-attacking cricket but he could not score many despite making his intentions clear. He was soon back to the hut by Virat Kohli, who was dismissed yet again poking outside off. Rohit Sharma, who was drafted into the side after some good performances in the Ranji Trophy failed miserably as he was dismissed for a 28-ball
The tailenders contributed a with the bat, which saved India from getting bowled out for an embarrassing score. The Indian bowlers will hope that they can get their team off to a good start by picking up a few quick wickets.
Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bat first. The hosts made a couple of changes from the Bengaluru Test to their squad. Rohit regained his place in the team in place of Varun Aaron. Amit Mishra was added into the team as the third spinner in place of all-rounder Stuart Binny. India lead the 4-match series 1-0, with the 4th and final Test set to be played in Delhi after this match.
