How to find the best rates for Royal Bank of Scotland

The Royal Bank of Scotland is an international banking and financial services company operating out of Edinburgh, UK. It has been present in India since 1921, and offers some of the most competitive interest rates on fixed deposits.

The table above lists the active interest rates for fixed deposit products from RBS. Fixed deposit rates are by nature dynamic figures, as changes in market, lending rates from RBI, or other reasons can result in new rates. Royal Bank of Scotland short term FD rates

The bank offers interest rates between 3.00% and 8.00% for deposits of less than 1 year tenor.The highest rate of interest of 8% is applicable on short term fixed deposits of 3 months to 1 year tenors. Interest rate starts from 3.00% for the shortest tenure of 7 to 14 days, and increases steeply to 5.60% for the next tenor slab of 15 to 30 days.

For the next slab, customers will get a 0.65% hike in interest rate, translating to 6.25% for FD tenor between 31 days and 60 days. In the next slab (61 days to 90 days), the interest rate increases by a further 0.75 percentage points to 7.00%.

There are four different tenor slabs between 91 days and 365 days - 91 to 150 days; 151 to 187 days; 188 to 270 days; and 271 to 365 days. All of these slabs are currently available for fixed deposits with a standard 8% rate of interest - an increase of 1 percentage point compared to 61 to 90 days slab.

RBS medium and long term FD rates

For medium and long term fixed deposits (tenor not less than 1 year) RBS offers standard rate of interest of 7.75%. A point to note here is that the longest tenor FD product from RBS has an upper ceiling of 5 years.

RBS Senior citizen FD rates

Senior citizens are provided an additional 0.25% rate of interest on all FD products listed above.
